Your Role

We are now looking for an engaged and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our design department. Here, you will work with technically advanced and quality-critical products in an organization characterized by collaboration, flat hierarchies, and high technical competence. In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, you will hold a central position in our development projects. You will work on both new development and the further development of existing products, participating throughout the entire design chain – from early concept studies and feasibility studies to finished and quality-assured production documentation.

You will collaborate closely with other designers, project managers, and adjacent functions such as production, purchasing, and quality, giving you a good holistic understanding of the product and its application.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer with us, you will among other things:

• Create assembly and detailed designs within our product segment, primarily in a CAD and PLM environment
• Work on product improvements and implement changes and updates to existing designs
• Actively contribute to method, product, and process development by developing working methods, creating instructions and checklists, and evaluating new technical solutions in design and manufacturing
• Support the sales and feasibility study organization with technical analyses and early assessments based on customer and requirement profiles
• Participate in the creation of test documents, work instructions, and control documentation to ensure high quality and reliability in the final product

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a few years of experience in mechanical design and are confident in working with established design processes and tools. You have a good ability to understand customer needs and translate requirements into technically sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

As a person, you are analytical, precise, and structured, with your own drive and a desire to develop. You take responsibility for your tasks, can work independently, and thrive in project-based collaboration. You communicate clearly and have the ability to handle periods of high tempo and tight deadlines. Experience from project-driven operations is meritorious.

We are looking for you who have:

• A technical education from upper secondary school, university, or college, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• A few years of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with product data management/PDM systems.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience in project management or technical sub-project management.
• Experience in system development.
• Previous work within the defense or aviation industry.
• Knowledge in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or electronics.

The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
